Was Adele Mulrennan A Jockey In The Past?
Yes, Adele Mulrennan was a jockey back in the day. She used to ride as an apprentice for the late Dandy Nicholls and her biggest win came aboard Masta Plasta in the 2008 Scottish Sprint Cup. Also working for Mick Easterby when an apprentice, her first winner actually came for the all-weather-training expert.
She wanted to ride out with the jumps jockeys as a teenager, but was told she was too talented and too small to be doing that, so she did some work for Richard Fahey in the summer months.
Adele rode 12 winners in roughly 100 rides, but she had to give up being a jockey once she fell pregnant with her daughter Scarlett.
Who Is Adele Mulrennan Married To?
Adele is married to top flat jockey Paul Mulrennan, and the pair met at a young age through working together at Easterby’s stable. Paul is highly regarded in the saddle, having won over 1000 races in his illustrious career.
Some of Paul’s career highlights have taken place at York Racecourse, where he won the Nunthorpe Stakes in back-to-back years in 2015 and 2016 aboard Mecca’s Angel. He also rode out his claim at the track on Blue Spinnaker in 2006, ands was led back into the winners enclosure by his wife Adele.
Paul has even been interviewed by his wife on ITV Racing. Adele went straight to him after his victory on Azure Blue in the Duke of York Stakes at the Dante meeting in the summer of 2023.

Adele Mulrennan Now Works As Analyst/Pundit On ITV Racing
The equine and horse racing expert is often found on our ITV Racing screens doing different jobs for the channel. Adele does interviews with jockeys, trainers and winning connections, and can also be found on the punditry panel.
However, something that she specialises in is anything to do with the equine side of things. She regularly has her own short cameo on the show called “Jargon Busters” where she explains different terminology with in the horse racing world. Talking about different things from what does a cross noseband do, to showing viewers where the horse’s shoulders are located.
It’s fair to say that she is an expert in her analysis, and is a huge part of the ever-growing ITV Racing team.
Also on the team are Leonna Mayor and Megan Nicholls, with all three previously labelled as some of the sexiest female jockeys around!
