Europa League draw: Round of 16 fixtures

  • Slavia Prague vs AC Milan [2-4]
  • Rangers vs Benfica [2-2]
  • Villarreal vs Marseille [0-4]
  • West Ham vs Freiburg [0-1]
  • Atalanta vs Sporting [1-1]
  • Brighton vs Roma [0-4]
  • Bayer Leverkusen vs Qarabag [2-2]
  • Liverpool vs Sparta Prague [5-1]

The likes of Liverpool, Marseille and Roma will be feeling confident about their fates in the second leg. Jurgen Klopp’s side demolished Sparta Prague and he’ll be able to rest a few players ahead of their FA Cup quarter-final tie against Manchester United on Sunday.

Unfortunately, Brighton’s race looks run. They’ve done well to get this far considering it’s the first time that Brighton have ever been in a European competition. The Italian giants brushed the Seagulls aside.

As for West Ham and Rangers, they’ve still got a lot to play for on the night. David Moyes will need to win in order to keep the critics away. It’ll be a huge scalp for Rangers if they manage to get a result against Benfica but anything is possible at the Ibrox.

One of the big favourites, Bayer Leverkusen, had a slight slipup against Qarabag. They came from 2-0 down to get get a 2-2 result – keeping their unbeaten record intact. They’ll be eager to put Qarabag aside on Thursday.
