There are seven FA Cup Third Round replays this midweek, with 14 sides looking to make it into the last 32 of the famous English cup competition – but what happens if any of the Third Round replays are drawn?

Will There Be Another Replay or Will the Third Round Matches Go To Extra-Time?

With seven of the FA Cup Third Round matches being draws then this midweek sees the reverse fixture, with the original away side now getting home advantage for the replay.

Of the seven replay games, the Wolves vs Liverpool offering on Tuesday night is the highest profile, after the sides drew 2-2 at Anfield, and it will be Brighton waiting for the winners in the Fourth Round to set up another all Premier League clash.

Extra-Time Will Kick-In If Any Of The FA Cup Third Round Replay Games Are Drawn

If any of Tuesday or Wednesday’s FA Cup Third Round replay matches end all-square after 90 mins, then the teams will play another 30 minutes of extra-time. As always, the extra-time period is two 15 minute halves.

What If An FA Cup Third Round Replay Is a Draw After Extra-time?

Then, if still a draw, in normal fashion the match will be decided by the dreaded penalty shootout. Each side will have the chance to take 5 penalties each and should it still be a draw after these have been taken then it’s the ‘even more dreaded’ penalty shootout sudden-death format until one team scores and the other misses.
