According to UK Betting Sites, West Ham are favourites to sign Harry Maguire, as Manchester United prepare for a huge summer overhaul.

The United captain has endured a tough time in Manchester since his ‘world-record’ move from Leicester in 2018, especially under Erik ten Hag.

Despite making 30 appearances this season, the England international has started only seven Premier League matches. With the likes of Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof being the preferred centre back options.

The Dutch manager has even opted for Luke Shaw, who is naturally a full-back, as a left side central defender – over the United skipper.

This has put the 29-year-old’s future in doubt, as the red side of Manchester look set to have huge overhaul in the summer transfer window.

One side that are reportedly leading the race to sign Maguire is West Ham. The Hammers sit 15th in the table and have finally ended any chance of relegation after dropping into the bottom three for parts of the campaign.

A saving grace for the side from east London has been the Europa Conference League, as they go into the semi-final second leg against AZ Alkmaar with a 2-1 lead.

However, star man, Declan Rice, looks set to leave his boyhood club at the end of the season and could earn the club over £100m.

Supporters of the Hammers will be hoping for a host of additions in Rice’s absence, with James Ward-Prowse and Scott McTominay also being linked with a move.

Maguire’s deal at Old Trafford ends in 2025, meaning the club may have to spend a large sum to coax United into selling their captain.

However, with ten Hag opting to use other defensive options, Maguire’s exit seems likely to happen in the summer. As the Red Devils have been linked with Napoli defender, Kim Min Jae.
