West Ham are ready to accept their fate with a Declan Rice departure and are reportedly interested in a cash-plus swap deal for Manchester City’s, Kalvin Phillips.
Declan Rice has been tipped to leave West Ham for multiple transfer windows, as the England international continues to establish himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. However, with West Ham sitting only a point above the relegation zone, it may be time for the 24-year-old to move on.
The Hammers have offered Rice numerous contracts which have not been successful, which would make him a free agent in summer 2024. Meaning Moyes and his side will need to prepare for life without their captain by looking for a potential replacement.
Reports say, the man they want to bring in to try and replicate what Rice contributes to Moyes’ team is Manchester City player, Kalvin Phillips. The east London side attempted to bring Phillips into the squad last January, submitting a £50m bid while he was still at Leeds.
Instead Phillips decided to join Manchester City in the summer, leaving his boyhood club to take his career to the next-level. Since joining City the midfielder is yet to make a Premier League start and Pep Guardiola publicly criticised the 27-year-old for being overweight, and not fit enough to train when returning from the World Cup.

A cash-plus swap deal would be beneficial for both parties as Phillips may be looking for first-team football once again. However Arsenal are still 11/1 favourites, according to UK betting sites, to land Rice’s signature. But with Moises Caicedo looking set to join the Gunners, West Ham may push for Rice to go elsewhere.
