West Ham have won just 1 game out of 11 without their star man Lucas Paqueta this season as David Moyes confirms he will be without the Brazilian again this weekend.

Paqueta’s West Ham Form

Lucas Paqueta has been sidelined with a calf injury since the beginning of the year and his side’s form has dropped monumentally in his absence.

Paqueta was heavily linked with Manchester City in the summer, with the Citizens reportedly offering £80m for the Brazilian’s services.

However, that bid was quickly turned down and the former Olympique Lyonnais man developed into the east London outfit’s talisman this season in place of Arsenal signing Declan Rice.

In 27 games across all competitions this season, Paqueta has scored 5 goals and provided 6 assists, according to Transfermarkt, making him one of West Ham’s most productive players.

The Hammers have struggled without him in recent times and have not won a Premier League fixture in 2024, drawing 3 and losing 2 in that time.

In fact, according to WhoScored, West Ham have only won 1 game out of 11 in all competitions without the enigmatic midfielder this season.

Moyes’ Paqueta Injury Update

Unfortunately for Hammers fans, it doesn’t look like Paqueta will be available for their Premier League fixture this weekend either.

Moyes and co. head to the City Ground on Saturday afternoon to face Premier League strugglers Nottingham Forest, but it looks like they’ll have to do it without the Brazilian.

Speaking ahead of his side’s Premier League fixture, Moyes said: “No, he’s not fit and available for tomorrow.

“He’s been on the grass a couple of days.

“I wouldn’t say it’s tentative but it’s not full out, that’s for sure.”

Moyes is currently the favourite to be the next manager sacked in the Premier League, so the former Manchester United boss will be hoping the enigmatic Brazilian returns from his injury lay-off sooner rather than later.

How do you think West Ham can mitigate Lucas Paqueta’s absence in the side?
