West Ham are reportedly interested in signing Fulham midfielder, Joao Palhinha, and are in negotiations with the Portuguese midfielder.
Cementing himself in the Portugal national side, Palhinha has been a revelation in the Fulham’s return to the Premier League and has caught the eye of a variety of top clubs.
Making 35 appearances in the league, the 27-year-old has been a key member of Marco Silva’s side, and secured Fulham’s highest Premier League finish since 2008.
Palhinha had reportedly attracted interest from La Liga giants, Barcelona, following Sergio Busquets’ move to Inter Miami. However, the Catalan sign have announced the signing of Oriol Romeu earlier on this morning.
A move to Barcelona could be difficult as the former Sporting Lisbon midfielder signed a five-year deal when signing for Fulham last summer. Meaning his contract will run until 2027 and could potentially cost the Hammers over £50m.

David Moyes will be looking to strengthen his side after winning the Europa Conference League, which will see the side from east London compete in the Europa League next season.
European form was not an issue for the Scottish manager, as his side remained unbeaten during their run to the trophy. However, Premier League performances were far from this and finishing 15th may cause some concern for West Ham supporters.
A host of players have been linked with the club, including Scott McTominay, Palhinha and Edson Alvarez, however the Declan Rice negotiations stalled any future additions.
Rice left the club for £105m and will be playing his football in north London this season – joining England teammate Bukayo Saka at Arsenal.
A fee for Palhinha is yet to be agreed, however, after receiving a British transfer record for their former captain, the Hammers should be in a strong position this summer.
