Wayne Rooney Special Odds: Just 5/4 To Be Sacked Before 23/24 Season

  • 5/4 – To be sacked before end of 23/24 season
  • 6/4 – To win either of the ‘Wagatha Christie’ games v Leicester (Vardy) this season
  • 7/1 – To get Birmingham promoted before he leaves
  • 8/1 – To get divorced while manager of Birmingham
  • 16/1 – To win a trophy at Birmingham
  • 20/1 – To take Manchester United job next after Birmingham
  • 50/1 – To take England job next after Birmingham
  • 100/1 – To get Birmingham into the Champions League

SportsLens Head of News Lee Astley said: “It was one of the worst kept secrets in football but former Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney has finally been announced as the new manager of Birmingham City.”

“The Blues are sitting pretty in the Championship, in sixth after 11 games, so Rooney has taken over a side in with a shout of getting promoted, which has been priced at 7/1. In contrast, if you feel the former Red Devil won’t make an impact at St. Andrew’s, he’s just 5/4 to get the boot before the end of the season.

“Another interesting sub-plot is a ‘Wagatha Christie’ matchup with Jamie Vardy’s Leicester City, who they are down to face on 16th December (home) and again on 6th April (away) – it’s 6/4 that Rooney can get the bragging rights in either game.

“Then, looking ahead, there are some pundits that are also tipping Rooney to be a Manchester United manager at some point, so would the Birmingham role just be a stepping stone to Old Trafford at 20/1?”
