The first international break since the World Cup sees the journey towards Euro 2024 begin, and Gareth Southgate has been dealt a tricky opening test in March, with Italy and Ukraine both featuring in the upcoming England fixtures this month.

Upcoming England Fixtures – March 2023

Following the disappointment of a quarter-final exit at the World Cup in December, Gareth Southgate has committed his future to England until at least Euro 2024 in Germany next year.

The Three Lions will first have to secure their place in the competition, with qualifying starting in March as we get a first glimpse of the squad post-World Cup.

Their fixture list begins with a stern test with an away trip to Naples to face Italy, who, despite failing to qualify for the World Cup, have not lost against England in the last six head-to-heads and are unbeaten on home soil since 1961.

This is then followed by a tie against Ukraine at Wembley three days later to complete a relatively short international break.

  • Italy vs England – Thursday 23rd March (19:45 GMT)
  • England vs Ukraine – Sunday 26th March (17:00 GMT)
