Ukraine Eurovision Odds – The First Repeat Winners in 30 Years?

All-time Eurovision record holders Ireland were the last nation to win in consecutive years in 1993, before adding a third crown in a row a year later.

Ukraine, who managed to clinch last year’s contest after rap group Kalush pipped the UK to first place, will be hoping their entry for 2023 will share the same level of success.

The duo dubbed ‘Tvorchi’ will shoulder that responsibility in Liverpool this weekend, where they will perform their song Heart of Steel.

They recently spoke of their hardship amid the unfolding conflict with Russia in their war-torn homeland, but said they persevered in “limited conditions, underground, in the cold, no light, and with constant noise” to arrive in the UK with a song that will hopefully place Ukraine in the upper echelons.

According to the latest odds across UK bookmakers, Ukraine are the third-favourites at 8/1 behind serial winners Sweden and Spain – this means odd-setters are handing them an 11.8% chance of defending their Eurovision throne, and clinching a fourth win overall.
