Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are set to receive the ‘biggest fight purse in boxing history’ as the fight is set to take place in Saudi Arabia. The undisputed heavyweight championship is on the line with all four world title belts, as well as the Ring Magazine belt. The fight is set to be announced in the coming weeks in what is undoubtedly the biggest boxing fight of the year.

Fury and Usyk Set For Earn ‘Biggest Purse In Boxing History’ For Undisputed Fight

WBC World Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury and WBO, IBF & WBA-Super World Heavyweight Champion Oleksandr Usyk are in line for the ‘biggest purse in boxing history’. The two heavyweight kingpins are currently negotiating a fight for the undisputed championship, with Saudi Arabia preparing to table a mega-money offer.

If the fight is made, it would be the first undisputed decider in heavyweight history in the four-belt era. The last person to be crowned undisputed heavyweight champion was Lennox Lewis back in 1999, but that was in the three-belt era.

If the fight is to go down in the Middle-East, both fighters will negotiate separate deals rather than sharing a percentage of the entire purse. If this historic heavyweight unification is to take place in Saudi Arabia, it will likely become the most expensive fight in the history of boxing.

Fury would likely be the favourite with the best boxing betting sites. However, the Ukrainian has shown he is an elite fighter, twice beating Anthony Joshua.

Fury’s American promoter, the veteran Bob Arum, revealed in a recent interview with Sky Sports that the potential fight could earn the pair record-breaking money:

“I’m very optimistic the fight is going to happen.

“Both fighters have agreed to do the fight, the question is the site and we’re talking to the Middle-East because allegedly they’re going to come up with the biggest purse ever in boxing history. And if they do, that’s where the fight is going to go because money is money.

“If they don’t, both fighters will agree to do the fight this spring at Wembley… but the fight will happen in my opinion, certainly within the first four months of the year. Fighters want to do the best for themselves because a fighter’s career, no matter how great he is, is limited and they want to make as much money as possible.”

As of today, Floyd Mayweather’s win over Manny Pacquiao back in 2015 remains the most lucrative fight of all time. There was reportedly £500 million on the table for the ‘Fight Of The Century’, with Mayweather taking £300 million and Pacquiao pocketing the remaining £200 million.

That fight sold a record number of pay-per-views in American too, with 4.4 million people paying to watch the fight on their television. That record is likely remain for some time, but the purse of Mayweather vs Pacquiao could well be broken in this Fury vs Usyk fight. If of course it happens that is.

Saudi Arabia have become a big player recently in boxing, twice prising Anthony Joshua over to the desert for world heavyweight title bouts.

Both Fury and Usyk are huge draws in their own right. A fight between the two would likely generate over £500 million as well as the potential to break all PPV records in the UK too.

In the early betting markets, ‘The Gypsy King’ is the slight favourite with the best sports betting apps at a price of around 1/2.

Bob Arum is confident the fight will get over the line and we will see the two heavyweight juggernauts collide before spring time. Both fighter’s respective last fights were huge, but nowhere near the size of what this undisputed clash could be:

“Now, if it’s a unification match between Tyson and Usyk, it’ll be even more spectacular.”
