Twitter Reacts to Tyson Fury ‘Robbery’
The Fury vs Ngannou result, which officially handed the former a marginal split decision victory, has been labelled a ‘robbery’ by outraged fans.
Casual viewers and avid boxing fans alike have flooded social media with their takes on the evening’s action in Saudi Arabia, with the vast majority coming out in unison to express their dismay at the judges’ share of the points.
UFC veteran Ngannou, who was the heavy underdog entering the fight with Fury as short as 1/20, will certainly feel hard done by after landing several heavy blows.
He even registered a shock knockdown in the third round, after a superb right hook which opened up a small cut above Fury’s eye.
Nevertheless, Ngannou only had one judge call it in his favour at 95-94, while the other two had had it as 96-93 and 95-94 to Fury.
A handful of particularly incensed fans have even linked together Tyson Fury’s latest triumph with his brother Tommy’s recent fight against KSI, with users on X (formerly Twitter) labelling both victories as ‘fraudulent’ with a clear bias in favour of the Fury family.
