Conor Gallagher’s potential transfer to Tottenham this month is slipping away because of Chelsea’s valuation of the player.

Gallagher To Tottenham “Very Unlikely”

Sources at Spurs have indicated to SportsLens that it is “very unlikely” they make a £50million bid for the Chelsea man at this late stage of the transfer window. Anything less than that would probably not be enough to tempt the Blues into a sale.

Gallagher’s future has been up in the air for months and he has made it clear that he does not want to leave Stamford Bridge.

However, Tottenham have been keeping tabs on his contract situation as they consider him a great fit for Ange Postecoglou’s vision of the future – and they had hoped that they could land him at a good-value price.

It is not impossible that Spurs make an offer of some kind, but they are unlikely to match Chelsea’s £50million valuation. There is an expectation that if Spurs do bid, that it would be a hopeful one. If that’s the case, then the uncertainty around Gallagher’s future will linger on and will likely remain a hot topic ahead of the summer transfer window.

Gallagher Wants New Contract At Stamford Bridge

The player wants to stay at Chelsea anyway and sign a new contract – and sources close to the player believe he deserves that opportunity given his importance to Maurcio Pochettino this season.

Gallagher’s current deal expires at the end of next season, and there has not been a breakthrough in any new talks. But Tottenham are very open minded about opportunities across 2024 in every area of the field, so the idea could yet be revisited.

Gallagher might not be leaving Chelsea this month, but Armando Broja still could, as revealed earlier today on SportsLens. The Albanian’s exit is far more likely before the deadline, as there has been a more active approach to finding buyers.
