Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is set to join Turkish outfit Galatasaray on a season-long loan with an option to buy, seemingly bringing an end to a disappointing spell in the English capital.

Former French international midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is set to join Turkish giants Galatasaray on a season-long loan from Tottenham, with an option to buy at the end of the season, according to reports.

Ndombele joined Spurs from Lyon for a huge £55million fee in 2019, a club-record at the time, and has impressed in spells – but the move has largely been a disappointment.

He spent last season on loan with Napoli, where he won the Serie A, but despite some strong performances – it wasn’t enough for them to make the move permanent.

And now he looks set to go on loan once again, with Fabrizio Romano revealing on Monday afternoon that his move to Galatasaray is now all-but confirmed.

“Tanguy Ndombele to Galatasaray, here we go! Agreement with Tottenham in place over loan deal,” he tweeted.

“Ndombele has already completed first part of medical tests and he’ll fly to Istanbul later today. Buy option clause also included.”

The 26-year-old midfielder is set to become Spurs’ eighth major departure this summer, and the fifth to leave on loan.

He follows the likes of Harry Kane (permanent), Harry Winks (permanent), Lucas Moura (permanent), Djed Spence (loan), Sergio Reguilon (loan), Joe Rodon (loan), and Japhet Tanganga (loan) out the door.

Ndombele’s arrival at Galatasaray is expected to be announced imminently, and he’ll be desperately hoping for a successful spell in order to revitalise his career, and possibly force his way back into the French national team.
