Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona midfielder, Franck Kessie, as the club look to strengthen their squad next season.

The 2022-23 season has been one to forget for all involved with Spurs, as they find themselves in sixth place in the Premier League. Finishing in the top four now seems unlikely, with the clubs around them having games in hand.

Antonio Conte parted ways with the club after a run of poor results and his assistant, Cristian Stellini, was appointed as an interim replacement.

Stellini’s tenure was short-lived and the club relieved him of his responsibilities after receiving a 6-1 thrashing by Newcastle last Sunday.

Supporters will be hoping that their club can find a suitable replacement in time for next season, where they are reportedly looking to strengthen in the transfer window.

One player that has been linked with a host of clubs, including Spurs, is Barcelona midfielder, Franck Kessie. The Ivorian has failed to make an impact in Spain since signing in 2021 and was reportedly offered a lower salary to fund a move for Lionel Messi, which he declined.

The Ivory Coast international has made 22 appearances for Barcelona this season, scoring just once and providing four assists. Xavi has preferred the likes of, Sergio Busquets, Frenkie de Jong and Gavi in the heart of midfield.

Spurs are not the only club that have shown interest in the 26-year-old, Juventus are reportedly keen on bringing the 26-year-old back to Serie A, where he previously played for AC Milan and Atalanta.

Kessie made 223 appearances for Milan in an impressive spell that spanned from 2019-2022, his affiliation with Milan may be a stumbling block that Juventus will need to avoid.

With Spurs’ recent midfield problems, that has seen Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma miss the majority of the season through injury, may be pivotal in their pursuit for Kessie.
