Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eyeing a move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba, with football transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano claiming that the defender is keen on the move.
Football transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have started concrete contacts to be informed on Edmond Tapsoba.
Romano has also revealed that the Bayer Leverkusen defender is keen on the move, however nothing is advanced at this stage.
Tapsoba’s links to Spurs come as the club looks to kickstart a new era under the leadership of Australian boss Ange Postecoglou.
It is said that the Burkinabe defender has been on Tottenham’s list of defensive targets for a ‘long time’.
The news was revealed on Romano’s Twitter account on Wednesday morning.
“Understand Tottenham have started concrete contacts to be informed on Edmond Tapsoba as new CB.” he tweeted.
“He’s on the list since long time — and Spurs are now exploring conditions of the deal on both player and Bayer 04 side.
“Nothing advanced yet — Tapsoba, keen on the move.”

Tapsoba is reportedly one of several defensive talents Spurs are looking to sign in the summer.
According to reports, Tottenham have made contact with Barcelona over the possibility of signing Clement Lenglet permanently, having spent this season on loan with the London club.
Since arriving at Leverkusen from Vitoria Guimaraes in 2020, Tapsoba has established himself as a top Bundesliga centre-back.
He has since made 100 appearances in the German top flight for the club. As well, representing Burkina Faso, he was named in the AFCON Team of the Tournament in 2021.
