After Inter Miami confirmed their international tour dates in Saudi Arabia for early next year, it looks as if fans could have the opportunity to see long-time rivals Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo face-off one last time.
Messi Vs. Ronaldo In Saudi Arabia
Inter Miami have confirmed that they will play two matches in Saudi Arabia next year as part of their international tour.
With the MLS currently in its off-season, Inter Miami will travel to Saudi Arabia in January to take part in the Riyadh Cup, first of all, to face Al-Hilal on Monday, January 29, before a much-anticipated showdown with Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr on February 1.
The competition will be a round-robin style tournament, and with a trophy up for grabs at the end of it, Messi and Ronaldo will no doubt both be desperate to have the last laugh over their long-term rival.

On the planned fixtures Inter Miami’s Chief Business Officer, Xavier Asensi said: “This is another major opportunity to create lasting relationships with passionate fans.
“We are excited to connect with new supporters in Saudi Arabia, and also hope people all over the world will be tuning in to see a pair of dream matches like these.”
Inter Miami sporting director Chris Henderson added in a statement: “These matches will offer important tests for our team, which will benefit us as we approach the new season. We’re excited for our group to get the chance to go up against teams with as much quality as Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr.”
When Did Messi And Ronaldo Last Face Each Other?
The legendary duo first met in the 2008 Champions League final between Barcelona and Manchester United, in which Barcelona won 2-0.
Having both spent the majority of their illustrious careers in La Liga, Messi and Ronaldo will clash for the 36th time, last facing off in an exhibition match at the beginning of the year, in which Messi’s PSG came up against an all-star XI from the Saudi Arabian League, featuring Cristiano Ronaldo.
On that day, the 2023 Ballon d’Or winner came out on top in a 5-4 PSG victory with both GOAT’s getting on the scoresheet. However, this time Cristiano Ronaldo will no doubt be wanting to reverse the outcome.
Who do you think will come out on top between Messi and Ronaldo?
