William Saliba was put to the test in a hilarious video that asked him to name former Arsenal players, and one of his answers was absolute gold.
The Gunners defender has been a huge success at the Emirates Stadium since making his debut in 2022, but he struggled somewhat when it came to recognising ex-Arsenal players.
The Correct Answers
William Saliba correctly answered when shown pictures of Alex Song, Andrey Arshavin – although he said Tomas Rosicky first of all – and Yaya Sanogo, who he had previously faced on the pitch.
Gervinho was also another correct answer, who played in the red-half of north London from 2011-2013, netting nine Premier League goals.
The Wrong Answers
The ex-Arsenal players William Saliba failed to recognise were Denilson, the former central midfielder, Manuel Almunia, who Saliba claimed he knew the face of but not the name and Eduardo, who’s career in north London never recovered after the horrific leg break he suffered in 2008.
Eduardo was a Croatian international who scored just seven Premier League goals in 41 appearances for the Gunners.
The Gold Answer
The reason William Saliba’s video will live forever on the internet is his hilarious response when asked to identify former defender Philippe Senderos. The ex-Switzerland international was with the club for seven years and won the FA Cup in 2005, his only major honour in north London.
When asked to correctly identify the image of Senderos, Saliba said: “Is it the coach of Everton? No, no, it looks like him!”
The France star was of course, getting confused with current Toffees boss Sean Dyche. When you compare the two though, it is easy to see why Saliba opted for that response but in reality, he was miles off the correct answer.
