Templegate Tips For ITV Racing: Saturday 9th December

Listed are the Templegate tips at Aintree and Sandown for the big ITV races on the day.

At Aintree, we’ve action over the Grand National fences in the Becher Chase – a race that over the years has seen three horses win both contests, but not in the same season.

Then, as long as they survive a 7:30am inspection, Sandown will stage their Tingle Creek Chase day, that will also include the Fighting Fifth Hurdle that was slotted into the fixture after being cancelled last weekend at Newcastle.

Constitution Hill and Jonbon are the two big names that will grace the Sandown turf as they look to give trainer Nicky Henderson a big race double at the Esher track.

The Templegate NAP bet for Saturday 9th December is FONTAINE COLLONGES, who runs in the 3:35pm at Sandown Park.

RICHMOND LAKE – In great form at the moment, winning his last three, including last time at Wetherby. Up 5lbs more and tougher race but looks the sort to have more to come.

• 2:05: Boylesports Becher Handicap Chase (Premier Handicap) (GBB Race) Cl1 (6yo+) 3m2f ITV4

PERCUSSION – Loves the Grand National fences. Was third in the race last year and warmed up for a repeat with a recent silver in the Grand Sefton Chase – again at Aintree over these obstacles.

• 2:40: Boylesports Daily Money Back 2nd Juvenile Hurdle (Listed Race) (GBB Race) Cl1 (3yo) 2m1f ITV4

MAX OF STARS – Most experienced runner in the field and that will make him hard to beat.

• 3:15: Boylesports Extra Place Races Handicap Hurdle (GBB Race) Cl2 (4yo+) 2m4f ITV4

SONIGINO – Paul Nicholls hurdler that ran a solid fourth in the Greatwood Hurdle last time. The form of that race looks strong, and this is a slightly easier affair.

Sandown Horse Racing Tips

CONSTITUTION HILL – The best hurdler on the planet right now and would be one of the racing shocks of the season if he’s not making it 8-from-8 over hurdles here.

• 1:50: Betfair Henry VIII Novices’ Chase (Grade 1) (GBB Race) Cl1 (4yo+) 1m7½f ITV4

JPR ONE – Was set to win at Cheltenham the last day until unseating jockey Brendan Powell at the last. Can make amends here.

• 2:25: Rachael Blackmore Serial Winners Fund Handicap Hurdle (GBB Race) Cl2 (3yo+ 0-150) 2m ITV4

IMPOSE TOI – Nicky Henderson 5 year-old that has caught the eye in winning his last two. The most recent coming at Cheltenham last month. Up 10lbs for that but looks the sort that could go to the top.

• 3:00: Betfair Tingle Creek Chase (Grade 1) (GBB Race) Cl1 (4yo+) 1m7½f ITV4

JONBON – Classy hurdler but an even better chaser. Is 6 from 7 over fences so far and that is expected to improve again after what we saw in his recent Shloer Chase win at Cheltenham.

• 3:35: Betfair Exchange London National Handicap Chase (GBB Race) Cl2 (5yo+ 0-150) 3m4½f ITV4

FONTAINE COLLONGES – Stable won this race last year and having won over 3m 1 1/2f at Haydock last season on her first run of the season we also know she goes well fresh.
