Crystal Palace star Wilfired Zaha has reportedly held talks with Al-Ettifaq manager, Steven Gerrard, over a possible transfer this summer.

The Crystal Palace star has become a club legend over recent seasons, scoring 90 goals in 450 appearances and has been pivotal in keeping the club in the Premier League.

However, the 2022-23 campaign was a difficult time for the Ivory Coast international, as missed large parts of the season through injury.

Despite these injury concerns, the 30-year-old still managed to record 10 goal contributions in 28 matches, across all competitions, and has reportedly attracted interest from a variety of sides.

However, the former Manchester United player is out of contract, meaning he is available on a free transfer this summer and has reportedly been in contact with Steven Gerrard over a move to Saudi Arabia.

Gerrard was appointed by the Saudi Arabian side last week and will return to management following a disappointing spell at Aston Villa. The former Liverpool player will take charge for the 2023-24 campaign and is keen on making a plethora of summer additions.

Saudi Arabia has seen football become more and more popular over recent years, with one of the best players throughout history, Cristiano Ronaldo, signing in January this year.

This summer window has seen a plethora of elite players follow suit, as N’Golo Kante, Karim Benzema, Roberto Firmino and Edouard Mendy have all moved to the ever-progressing country.

However the Ivorian international may face complications over a move to Saudi Arabia, as Al-Ettifaq refused to meet Zaha’s salary demands.

The Saudi club offered a £16m/year deal but negotiations are on the verge of collapsing as Zaha’s representatives are demanding an additional £7.5m
