It’s Mission: Impossible today for Spurs as they want to try and sign Chelsea midfielder Connor Gallagher but they need to offload players first.

Connor Gallagher has two years left on his contract and Spurs are trying to lure him from the West to the North of London. Chelsea are willing to extend his contract but will also listen to offers.

West Ham bid £40m for Gallagher this summer but it was rejected by Chelsea. There’s not a specific price attached to Gallagher’s name but suspect something in the £50m-£60m range.

Earlier, Todd Boehly officially hit the £1bn mark that has been spent on players since his takeover in 2022 after completing the signing of Cole Palmer from Manchester City.

Chelsea have not shied away from selling to their rivals this season as Kai Havertz made his way to Arsenal, Manchester United bought Mason Mount and Manchester City signed Mateo Kovacic.

Spurs are looking to offload players to fund this transfer including Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg who’s been offered to a variety of clubs – including Fulham.

Spurs have already added attacking talent to their side this summer with the likes of James Maddison who’s impressed in his first few games in a Spurs shirt.

They are also looking at bringing in Nottingham Forest Forward Brenann Johnson after he bagged 10 goals last season. It’s understood that Forest are looking for £45m for the 22-year-old.
