Manchester City midfielder Rodri wants his teammates to put their poor form behind them in order to win the Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia.
Manchester City’s Premier League Struggles
In what seems to be a hangover from winning the treble last season, Manchester City have struggled to replicate the heady heights of last campaign.
City have particularly struggled in the Premier League this season, where recently they have dropped points in 5 of their last 6 games, including draws with struggling Crystal Palace and Chelsea sides.
As a result, Pep Guardiola’s side have slipped down to 4th place in the Premier League table, 5 points behind leaders Arsenal.
City are also likely to fall further behind in the Premier League as they are currently in Saudi Arabia competing in the Club World Cup, where they dispatched Uruwa Red Diamonds yesterday to progress to the final.

Rodri On City’s Premier League Form
Guardiola’s side need to rediscover their form quickly if they want to compete for an unprecedented 4th Premier League title in a row, and Rodri thinks their Premier League sabbatical in Saudi Arabia may help them get back on course.
Speaking to the media ahead of Manchester City’s Club World Cup final against Fluminense on Friday, Rodri said: “We have a massive opportunity to win an incredible trophy. We’re in the final. It was tough. Let’s do our best to win it.
“We have to give our best to try to win everything because it will be history. It would be an amazing run if we end with five titles.”
“[The last few games] left a very bad feeling in the changing room for us so I think it was good for us to stop a little bit and then come here to the [Club] World Cup.
“When you’re in that moment you’re in this mixture of feeling that you have failed and dropping points: sometimes you deserve that, sometimes you don’t.
“It’s a time when you can’t speak much, you have to be quiet, work as hard as you can and results will come out.”
