Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton fought from behind to secure a point against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, and following the full-time whistle – the Italian sang his praises for Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, and described him as ‘one of the best coaches in the world’.

Simon Adingra handed Brighton the lead over Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, but for Reds superstar Mohamed Salah to score twice before the end of the half to turn the game on its head.

The Seagulls never gave up though, and with the points looking as if they’d be heading back to Merseyside with Jurgen Klopp and his men – skipper Lewis Dunk struck home a leveller just 12 minutes from time at the Amex.

Due to other fixtures involving teams around them in the table also ending in draws, Brighton maintained their sixth place position amongst the English elite, whilst Liverpool remain in fourth place – eight games into the Premier League campaign.

Roberto De Zerbi and Klopp were pictured ahead of the clash deep in conversation, and following the full-time whistle, the Italian sang his praises for the German boss as the spoils were shared on the south coast.

He said: “I love [Jurgen] Klopp, and he can do what he wants because I have big respect for him and consider him to be one of the best coaches in the world.”

Klopp also shared his thoughts on De Zerbi in his post match press conference, revealing the deep level of respect he holds for the Seagulls boss.

“I could not respect more for what he is doing. Honestly, I’m a real supporter of it,” Klopp said.

“I’m a football lover and if somebody comes in and has the impact he’s had on football – it should not be underestimated.”
