According to reports, Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez is in advanced talks with Al-Ahli over a move to Saudi Arabia this summer.

The Algerian international has been rumoured to leave the Etihad in the coming weeks, with the Citizens offloading a host of star players.

Ilkay Gundogan left the club to join La Liga giants, Barcelona, and Bernardo Silva, Kyle Walker and Mahrez have all been linked with moves elsewhere.

The former Leicester City star played a huge part in Manchester City’s treble-winning campaign, contributing to 28 goals in 47 appearances.

However, after winning five Premier Leagues, three Carabao Cups and two FA Cups, the 32-year-old’s time in England appears to be coming to an end.

A host of sides have shown interest in Mahrez, however, the Algerian is reportedly in advanced negotiations with Al-Ahli over a move to Saudi Arabia this summer.

As Saudi Arabia prepare to bid for a future World Cup, the nation have welcomed an abundance of top talent in hopes of strengthening their chances.

A host of Europe’s best players have moved to Saudi Arabia this summer, after Cristiano Ronaldo paved the way in January as he signed for Al-Nassr from Manchester United.

Current Balon D’Or winner, Karim Benzema, ended his long spell at Real Madrid and joined Al-Ittihad – in a deal that is set to earn the Frenchman £100m a year.

N’Golo Kante, Edouard Mendy, Ruben Neves and a variety of other top players have moved to Saudi Arabia and could entice Mahrez to do the same.

However, the 32-year-old still has two-years remaining on his Manchester City contract, meaning any move for the tricky winger could come with a hefty transfer fee.
