Newly-relegated Leicester City have added further Premier League pedigree to their ranks, after the club confirmed the arrival of Conor Coady from Wolves for a reported fee worth up to £8.5million.

After announcing the signing of Harry Winks from Tottenham earlier in the day, Leicester have also confirmed the arrival of Conor Coady from Wolves.

The Liverpool-born defender spent last term on loan with Merseyside club Everton, and has now made the switch to the King Power Stadium.

Leicester have reportedly paid a fee of £7.5million for Coady, as well as a further £1million in add-ons.

A 10-time England international, Coady will bring plenty of experience to the Foxes’ squad in the Championship, having featured 25 times for Everton last season, as well as having made over 300 appearances for Wolves.

Coady’s arrival comes off the back of two key Foxes players departing, with Youri Tielemans heading to Aston Villa, whilst James Maddison joins up with Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham.

Speaking to Leicester’s media time upon his arrival at the King Power, Coady expressed his delight at finalising the move.

“I’m absolutely over the moon. I couldn’t wait to get down here, to obviously see everyone and get everything signed and boxed off. Now I’m here, I’m massively excited. I’ve been massively excited all summer to be fair and it’s something I was desperate to get done.” he said.

“I’ve played against the Club numerous times and it’s so, so hard playing against Leicester City. That’s something we need to take into the season. This place is incredible, I think it’s the best training ground I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s got absolutely everything so there’s no excuses for us going forward into the new campaign.

“Knowing a few of the lads here as well and how they speak of the Football Club, but looking at Leicester City as a whole, it’s such an exciting place to be. I’m massively excited about joining so it wasn’t a hard decision. As soon as I heard of the interest, it was something I wanted to pursue. I can’t wait to get started.”
