Reece James has shut down any rumours of him making a move across London to Arsenal this summer, with the Chelsea defender providing a brutal three word reply on Twitter.

There had been rumours that James could make a shock move to Arsenal this summer, but the 23-year-old took to Twitter on Thursday night to categorically deny a move to his rivals.

An Arsenal fan had posted a picture of James with the caption reading ‘Reece James to Arsenal who says no’ and the Chelsea superstar provided a short but sweet response with: ‘I say no.’

Chelsea have been very active in the summer transfer window, as Hakim Ziyech, N’Golo Kante, Edouard Mendy and Kalidou Koulibaly have all made the popular move to Saudi Arabia.

Matteo Kovacic and Kai Havertz both left for Premier League rivals, with the former joining Manchester City and the latter signing for Arsenal for £65m this week.

Fellow Chelsea academy graduate Mason Mount has also departed this summer, with Manchester United securing the 24-year-old’s services for a fee of £60m.

As Mauricio Pochettino clears the decks ahead of his first season in charge at Stamford Bridge, it would have been no surprise to see James make an exit.

However James’ Twitter reply appears to have dispelled all rumours surrounding a transfer for the 23-year-old who will remain at the club he has been with since academy days.

James signed a six year deal with the Blues in September and his loyalty hasn’t gone unnoticed by fans, as many have called for the fullback to be named Chelsea captain in the new season.
