Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Borussia Dortmund youngster, Karim Adeyemi, as the La Liga side look to replace Karim Benzema.

Los Blancos’ supporters will look back on the 2022-23 campaign with a sense of disappointment and concern, as Carlo Ancelotti failed to retain both the league, and Champions League trophy.

Fierce rivals, Barcelona, proved too much for Madrid as Xavi’s side topped the La Liga table by a staggering 11 points and clinched their 27th league title.

Ancelotti’s side were unable to retain the UCL trophy following a humiliating 4-1 aggregate defeat to eventual champions, Manchester City meaning the club are reportedly keen on bolstering their squad this summer.

Los Blancos have already made a monstrous addition to an already star-studded squad, after signing one of Europe’s most exciting prospects, Jude Bellingham.

The 19-year-old impressed the footballing world during his time in Dortmund and the Englishman is not the only Dortmund player who has attracted interest from the Spanish side. As Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly keen on signing German international, Karim Adeyemi.

The 21-year-old made 32 appearances in all competitions during the 2022-23 campaign, contributing to 15 goals in the process.

Adeyemi has become a household name in European football, catching the eye in both domestic and European competitions. The infamous goal against Chelsea highlighted the electric speed and devastating finishing that Adeyemi possesses.

With Karim Benzema leaving the club this summer, the need for attacking reinforcements has increased and a move for the German youngster could cost up to £80m.

A slight stumbling block that Madrid may face in their pursuit, is the length that remains on Adeyemi’s contract in Germany. The Dortmund forward has four years remaining on his current deal, which may add to his already colossal price tag.
