Raheem Sterling will have a big decision to make as he considers the next stage of his career, with Chelsea likely to let him leave.

The Saudi Pro League attempted to nab him last year and were quickly rebuffed, but a fresh move for the Chelsea forward is expected to be on the table at a time when his career at Stamford Bridge is stalling.

Sterling missed a penalty and sent a free-kick wildly high and wide in an under-par display against Leicester City at the weekend.

New rumours linking him to Saudi Arabia were played down recently but SportsLens sources indicated that the intentions around making him a new offer are very real.

Sterling’s £375,000-a-week contact is valid for another two years, but his performances in the coming weeks will be scrutinised as insiders close to Chelsea indicate they believe the club will be open to selling him.

Elsewhere, the MLS could well be an option for the 29-year-old, who will be expected to carefully weigh up his options incase options in Europe are also possible.

Sterling has eight goals and ten assists across the current campaign, but his inconsistency has been a frustration, particularly as one of the few senior players in a largely youthful set-up.

Despite the current chatter surrounding his future, the player is focused on his work at Chelsea and has little appetite to play abroad before now.

It could be that he waits to discover which other options are on the table in England before making any firm decision over the next step of his career.

Sterling, 29, joined Chelsea from Manchester City in July 2022 and faces a crunch clash against his former employers next month, with the pair going toe-toe in an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.
