Simply backing all progeny of Night Of Thunder on good to soft or softer going on the Flat (based on Proform’s going allowance, not the official verdict) would have found 92 winners from 493 bets (18.7% strike-rate) for a profit of £84.10 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 75.16, A/E = 1.22), prior to Bletchley Storm’s Brighton win last night (tipped in this column). COME ON YOU SPURS went close on fast ground at Newmarket last time and looks a likely improver now encountering soft ground for the first time.

ATRIXI (system – Lucy Wadham, handicap debut, Flat turf runners)
Lucy Wadham doesn’t have many runners on the Flat but those making their handicap debut on turf have a five from 20 record in the past ten years for a profit of £18.38 to a £1 level stake at SP. ATRIXI was well beaten at Goodwood last time but that was when 150-1 for a maiden and the switch to handicap company coupled with the first-time visor could see her out-run odds of around 33-1.
