LUDLOW 12.05
THE FAMOUS FIVE (system – Venetia Williams, December handicappers, recent run)
This century, Venetia Williams has a 69 from 284 record (24.3% strike-rate) with her handicappers in the month of December who had the benefit of a recent run (within the past four weeks) and backing them blind would have returned a profit of £87.75 to a £1 level stake at SP. THE FAMOUS FIVE, third in a maiden hurdle here 23 days ago, can make a successful transition to handicap company.
AYR 1.35
SOFT RISK (system – Nicky Richards, handicap hurdle to handicap chase switchers)
since 2019, Nicky Richards has a ten from 29 record when switching one of his runners from handicap hurdle to handicap chase company for a profit of £36.88 to a £1 level stake at SP. SOFT RISK, runner-up in a handicap hurdle here at Ayr when w last saw him in April 2022, is taken to defy a long absence on his chase debut.
LUDLOW 1.50
FEEL THE PINCH (system – small-field preference)
FEEL THE PINCH disappointed at Bangor last time but was probably unsuited by the return to hurdles, having scored here at Ludlow in handicap chase company the time before. His full record in fields of nine or fewer runners reads 813141F13U311114 (8-16) for a profit of £54.63 to the usual £1 stake and the return to fences looks ideal.
KEMPTON 5.30
PAPPANO (system – Gosden yard, Nathaniel progeny)
John Gosden trained multiple Group 1 winner Nathaniel and the yard has done well with the sire’s progeny, scoring with 35 of the 110 qualifiers (31.8%) for a profit of £18.41. Five of the nine qualifiers at Kempton won and PAPPANO might be up to making a winning debut.
