First-season sire Blue Point has made a fine start to his career at stud and his progeny often go well on their racecourse debuts, landing 16 of their 79 starts (20.3%) for a profit of £39.66 to a £1 level stake at SP. The fillies are just four from 30 (-£10.92) and backing only the colts/geldings would have found 12 winners from 49 bets for a profit of £50.58. Owners Amo Racing also have a good overall record with newcomers and the Alice Haynes-trained BENEATH THE SAND could offer some value against odds-on favourite Golden Strike in a fascinating 6f maiden.
SOUTHWELL 3.30
DREAMSUNDERMYFEET (systems – Martin Keighley chasers in a first-time visor & Martin Keighley jumpers at Southwell)
Bang-in-form Martin Keighley does well with his national hunt runners at Southwell, scoring with 39 of the 243 qualifiers (16.1%) for a profit of £28.12 to the usual £1 stake. Backing only the chasers would have found 14 winners from 64 bets for a profit of £45.16. He also does well with chasers in a first-time visor (four from 23, +£21.75) and DREAMSUNDERMYFEET qualifies on both counts.
