Tom Lacey has won with 24 of his 105 handicap hurdle debutants and backing them blind would have returned a profit of £70.08 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 14.37, A/E = 1.67). MONTREGARD improved on his eyecatching 2m debut third at Doncaster when scoring over 2m3f at Warwick last time and the step up to today’s 2m5.5f trip will suit.

SPITFIRE GIRL (system – Jamie Snowden, young/inexperienced handicap chasers)
Jamie Snowden does well with his young handicap chasers and, since the beginning of 2014, his record with those aged four, five or six who were having their first or second start over fences stands at 25 winners from 96 runners for a profit of £36.88 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 17.26, A/E = 1.45). SPITFIRE GIRL was first past the post (subsequently demoted to second) on her chase debut at Ffos Las earlier this month and should go well again.
