Andrew returns from a short break with four stats-based picks at Ffos Las, Ripon and Carlisle on Tuesday, May 30th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below..

FFOS LAS 3.00

BOSTON JOE (system – Sean Bowen, Ffos Las chases)

BOSTON JOE pulled up when 2-1 favourite at Bangor last time but lost his action after an early error and that effort is safe to ignore. He won easily over 2m here at Ffos Las on his penultimate start and Sean Bowen is 42 from 151 (27.8%) when riding over fences at today’s venue for a profit of £60.74 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 27.97, A/E = 1.50).

RIPON 4.50

VINTAGE LOVE (system – Grant Tuer, filles/mares in handicaps)

Since the beginning of 2019, Grant Tuer has a 25 from 127 record (19.7%) with his female runners in handicaps, regardless of whether they were running against their own sex or taking on male rivals. VINTAGE LOVE is a nine-race maiden but has form figures on turf of 33325 (0-5) on turf and can reward each-way support despite a tricky draw.

RIPON 5.25

RUN THIS WAY (system – Paul Midgley, first-time visor)

RUN THIS WAY won well in re-applied cheekpieces at Redcar on Tuesday and can follow up in the first-time visor this afternoon. Since the beginning of 2008, Paul Midgley is seven from 44 when using this type of headgear for a profit of £71.00 to a £1 level stake at SP, including a six from 29 haul in Class 6 company (+£67.00).

CARLISLE 5.55

HUDDLE UP (system – jockey Alice Keighley)

Alice Keighley is one of the more reliable amateur jockeys on the circuit at present and simply backing her mounts blind would have found nine winners from 40 bets for a profit of £12.83 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 6.28, A/E = 1.43). When riding for David & Nicola Barron the score is seven from 22 for a profit of £23.58. HUDDLE UP has still to win for the Barron’s but wasn’t beaten by far when fifth at Catterick on his latest start and can reward each-way support.
