Andrew had three places (including 14-1) from his three picks on Wednesday and has goes to war with four more on Thursday, May 18th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:

SALISBURY 1.30

Q TWENTY BOY (system – Mark Usher, apprentice handicaps, turf)

Mark Usher has a good record in apprentice handicaps, scoring with 14 of his 115 runners (12.2% strike-rate) since the beginning of 2016 for a profit of £52.00 to a £1 level stake at SP. On turf only, the strike-rate improves to 17% (nine winners from 53) for a profit of £50.50. Q TWENTY BOY has finished second in both previous runs at today’s venue and gets the nod over stablemate ARLECCHINO’S GIFT, third at 10-1 on his only previous course outing.

YORK 3.35

PASSENGER (system – Sir Michael Stoute, Dante Stakes, one or two previous runs)

My database goes back to 1997 and in that period Sir Michael Stoute’s lightly-raced Dante runners (one or two previous runs) recorded form figures of 2111215381 (5-10) for a profit of £19.50 to a £1 level stake at SP. Desert Crown qualified when winning at 5-2 last year before landing the Derby and perhaps PASSENGER can follow suit.

SALISBURY 4.55

GRAHAM (system – Richard Hannon, second run since gelded, top six finish last time out)

Since the beginning of 2018, Richard Hannon has a 22 from 97 record with runners having their second start since gelded who finished in the top six last time out and backing them blind would have returned a profit of £52.50 to a £1 level stake at SP. GRAHAM, third of seven at Windsor last time when perhaps making up ground too quickly from three furlongs out, is worth a punt to go two places better.

NEWMARKET 5.15

DIDDY MAN (system – Tom Dascombe, restricted novice races, not racecourse debut)

Tom Dascombe has a superb record in restricted novice races, especially with horses who had the benefit of previous experience. He’s won with six of the 13 qualifiers for a profit of £31.66 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those who were priced at 16-1 or shorter recorded form figures of 111111323 (6-9), with the runner-up effort at 14-1. DIDDY MAN was only seventh of eight at Bath on his debut but was very green in the preliminaries and is likely to do better this time.
