CHELMSFORD 2.05
NOT AFRAID (system – Ralph Beckett, Chelmsford)
Backing all Ralph Beckett-trained runners at Chelmsford would have found 39 winners from 178 bets (21.9% strike-rate) for a profit of £35.28 to a £1 level stake at SP. Young horses (aged two or three) who were drawn in stall 4 or lower had a 23 from 74 record for a profit of £60.63. Three-year-old NOT AFRAID needs to step up on what he’s shown so far but the first-time hood could help and he’s well berthed in stall 3.
THURLES 2.53
WILD HUNT (system – Denis Hogan, handicap chase debut)
DENIS HOGAN has a nine from 40 record with his handicap chase debutants for a profit of £25.35 to a £1 level stake at SP. WILD HUNT was tailed off when unseating on his sole previous chase start but that was in novice company a year ago and, with another season behind him, the seven-year-old is worth chancing on his return to the larger obstacles.
NEWCASTLE 8.30
SIXCOR (system – Linda Perratt, all-weather)
Linda Perratt has a solid recent record on the all-weather, scoring with 22 of her 90 runners since the beginning of 2023 for a profit of £73.25 to a £1 level stake at SP. SIXCOR, one of six representatives for the yard at Newcastle tonight, has a good record in 5f Class 6 all-weather races and will come on for his recent course and distance sixth on his first run for 51 days.
