FLASHY BOY (system – Tom Lacey hurdlers, beaten favourite last time out)
Tom Lacey hurdlers, who tasted defeat when favourite on their most recent outing, have a 26 from 111 record (23.4%) for a profit of £29.98 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those who had been off the track for more than seven weeks prior to that beaten-favourite effort were 12 from 24 for a profit of £54.48. FLASHY BOY could never get involved from off the pace at Market Rasen last time on his return from a 105-day break, finishing sixth as the 5-2 favourite, and is worth another chance.
CARLISLE 3.40
PHANTOM GETAWAY (system – Kim Bailey chasers, first run after a wind operation)
The Kim Bailey-trained THE EDGAR WALLACE scored at Wetherby on Saturday on his first run after wind surgery, taking his record with chasers after the procedure to 12 winners from 40 runners for a profit of £10.44. The handicap chasers show a profit of £14.76 on their first start post wind-op and PHANTOM GETAWAY qualifies here.
LINGFIELD 3.55
WARRIOR SQUARE (system – Adaay, all-weather, 4yo+)
Older progeny of the sire Adaay have a good record on the all-weather, landing 34 of their 261 starts (13% strike-rate) for a profit of £67.34 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 24.50, A/E = 1.39). Lightly raced four-year-old WARRIOR SQUARE was only beaten by a little over two lengths when eighth of 11 over course and distance in March – his handicap debut and first run since gelded – and could go well at a big price.
