MISTY GREY (system – David O’Meara stable switchers, speed angle)
David O’Meara has a fair record at the first time of asking with horses he takes over from other yards, scoring with 73 of the 540 qualifiers (13.5%) for a small loss of £12.65 to a £1 level stake at SP (-2.34% on turnover). Those who had the best career speed figure according to Proform’s figures were 18 from 61 (29.5%) for a profit of £16.18 (+26.53% on turnover). MISTY GREY, a four-time winner on Tapeta for Tom Dascombe, could be worth chancing at a big price (14-1 at the time of writing).

PIPER’S FORT (system – Kodiac, gelded since last run)
Progeny of the sire Kodiac have a useful record on their first run after a gelding operation, landing 53 of their 375 starts (14.1%) for a profit of £198.58 to a £1 level stake at SP. PIPER’S FORT failed to shine in three sprint maidens on turf last summer but started at 150-1 on his latest outing and the gelding operation, first-time cheekpieces and switch to the all-weather could all bring about improvement on his three-year-old debut.
