RUNNING STAR won’t have many fans after his 11th-of-12th effort (2-1 favourite) here last month when fitted with first-time cheekpieces but that run, his first since gelded, might have been needed and he could be worth another chance. He has a tough draw today but there’s compensation in the price (20-1+) and the first-time blinkers could spark improvement. Since the spring of 2016, his trainer is ten from 46 with geldings in first-time blinkers and backing them blind would have produced a profit of £41.38 to a £1 level stake at SP.
