Anthony Honeyball has a solid record with handicap hurdle debutants, scoring with 29 of the 128 qualifiers (22.7%) for a profit of £69.83. BALTCIC VOYAGE, one of two qualifiers today (the other is Juggernaut in the 2.35) shaped with promise from off the pace when fifth in a maiden hurdle at Stratford last time – his first run following a wind operation – and should be fitter today.

The Channon yard has traditionally done well with their older horses in Ireland and backing those aged four plus, since the beginning of the current century, would have found five winners from 18 bets for a profit of £35.80. CAERNARFON, who caused a 14-1 surprise when landing a Listed contest at Pontefract last time, will appreciate any ease in the ground and can land this 1m1f Group 3 for fillies and mares.
