Spreadex offers both normal fixed odds betting plus spread betting on horse racing. There are some key differences between this form of gambling and placing regular fixed odds bets. Get the calls right and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:
Andrew heads to Cheltenham – the final day of the three-day open meeting – for his two recommended bets/trades on Sunday, November 19th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:
CHELTENHAM 2.20
I want to oppose current favourite GUETAPAN COLLONGES in this 3m3.5f Class 1 premier handicap chase as Charlie Longsdon ‘s seven-year-old has been beaten as favourite on both previous occasions that he’s run in this company – finishing a 24-length fourth of 17 (11-2f) and a 13.5-length fourth of 13 (5-1f). My shortlist comprises of Cloudy Glen, Malina Girl and FIRST LORD DE CUET, with preference for the last-named. David Pipe’s nine-year-old will relish the deep ground and has had a wind operation since his modest third at Wetherby in the spring when we last saw him. He’s capable of running well when fresh – going down by just three-quarters of a length when 28-1 at Ffos Last on his comeback last term after a break of 571 days – so fitness should not be an issue. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.
Recommendation: Back FIRST LORD DU CUET in Cheltenham 2.20
CHELTENHAM 3.30
GO DANTE is a huge price for the Greatwood Handicap Hurdle but the Olly Murphy-trained seven-year-old might do better than his odds suggest. He runs well when fresh, so the break since April can be viewed positively – he scored at the first time of asking in the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons and his runner-up effort at odds of 2-7 on last term’s reappearance can be attributed to the right-handed track (he lost ground by jumping markedly out to his left and has been campaigned exclusively on left-handed tracks since that defeat). The son of Kayf Tara has a good record on soft or heavy going, recording form figures of 1418 (2-4), with the first defeat behind Stage Star in the Grade 1 Challow Hurdle at Newbury and the other in a field of 20 runners at Aintree when jumping poorly in first-time cheekpieces. Go Dante has had a wind operation since that effort and will appreciate the big field/strong pace scenario. Back him each-way in the Spreadex fixed odds betting or buy in the 50-30-20-10 market.
Recommendation: Back GO DANTE in Cheltenham 3.30
