ARDERA RU won her sole point-to-point outing but struggled in her early starts under National Hunt Rules, recording form figures of 5244446546536 (0-13) before the cheekpieces were added to her usual tongue-tie at Thurles in October of last year where she finished a highly creditable 14-1 fifth of 15. That run was a springboard to better things, and she took her record in the cheekpieces/tongue-tie combination to 5213121 (3-7) when a four-length winner at Thurles last time. Shane O’Callaghan, whose record on the eight-year-old daughter of Fame And Glory, reads 213121 (3-6) again takes the ride and she should be hard to kick out of the frame. SANDOWN 2.15
XCITATIONS was only fifth of seven in a 2m2f handicap chase at Sandown on his comeback but, with the benefit of hindsight, that trip stretches him stamina and he’ll improve for the run. He’s won at the second of third time of asking in each of the last three seasons and his only previous Sandown run resulted in a wide-margin 7-1 course and distance (1m7.5f) win off a similar mark to today’s.
