PERTH JOCKEYS
RYAN MANIA has three useful rides at Perth today for in-form Sandy Thomson, including MARTY MCFLY in the 2m novices’ limited handicap hurdle (1.57). The six-year-old was sent off as the 7-2 favourite on his stable debut at Bangor last month but did too much too soon and struggled to see out the extended 2m3f trip, finishing just under five lengths behind the winner in fourth place. His trainer does well at the second time of asking with horses he takes over from other yards, scoring with 14 of the 58 qualifiers since 2017 (24.1% strike-rate) for a profit of £99.13 to a £1 level stake at SP and he should go well. KILBRAINY (2.32) was also a beaten favourite last time, but the subsequent 234-day absence suggests excuses that day and he was a comfortable winner on his penultimate start. GANAPTHI’s chance is less obvious in the 3.07 after he could only finish seventh of 11 on his stable debut at Bangor last month but the step up in trip will suit and he can pick up points for second or third. Spread punters can buy RYAN MANIA in the PERTH JOCKEYS market, while fixed odds punters can combine his rides in a multiple bet.

PERTH 3.42
KARL PHILIPPE struggles in fields of 12 or more runners but is very consistent in smaller line-ups, recording form figures of 11221325112123P31 (7-17) for a profit of £6.71 to a £1 level stake at SP. Fergal O’Brien’s nine-year-old won well from seven rivals at Kempton last time and, given his preference for a right-handed track, should be suited by Perth. He faces only seven rivals this afternoon and rates a buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.
