Andrew bids to end the week on a high with two recommended bets/trades at Stratford and Redcar on Sunday, July 21st. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:

REDCAR 2.17

The draw/pace bias on the straight course (5f-1m) at Redcar has been stronger than ever this season and opposing runners ridden patiently on their latest outing, who were drawn in stall 5 or higher, has been a profitable angle. The value lies in taking on those who ran with credit on their latest outing (finishing in the top five), with only one of the 34 qualifiers proving successful. That was 9-4 shot Paborus (winner again since) who scored at the season opener back on May 2nd. SMITHY will have his fans in this 7f contest after his debut 28-1 fourth over the same trip at Newcastle last month but he has four horses between him and the favoured rail today, including the favourite EZDAAN (stall 1). That debut effort may also flatter Ollie Pears’ juvenile, as the Newcastle track favoured the patient tactics employed. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

Recommendation: Oppose SMITHY in Redcar 2.17

STRATFORD 5.10

Opposing Dan Skelton runners in the summer jumps season might seem a risky strategy though there’s one area in which they have underperformed in recent years – when pitching a chasing debutant straight into handicap company under top weight. Since 2021 the score is 0-19 (expected winners = 3.66) and the last seven qualifiers all finished fourth or worse. ITTACK BLUE has campaigned exclusively right-handed in his five starts since his maiden hurdle defeat at Newbury in November 2022, so it’s also possible that this sharp left-handed track won’t be ideal. Thrown in a heavy defeat at Market Rasen last time when 5-4 favourite and he looks worth selling in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

Recommendation: Oppose ITTACK BLUE in Stratford 5.10
