If we include his point-to-point form, Jamie Snowden’s seven-year-old has form figures immediately following a defeat of 1111 (4-4) and he’s likely to prove hard to beat. THE BIG BREAKAWAY, pulled up in the Welsh Grand National on his latest outing, might do better now returned to hurdles and dropped in class for this Pertemps Qualifier. Since taking over the licence from his father, Joe Tizzard is four from 20 with handicap hurdlers reverting from fences and those running over a distance of 2m5f or further recorded form figures of 9213542102115 (4-13) for a profit of £13.83 to a £1 level stake at SP. The nine-year-old has a good record when racing left-handed below Class 1 level – form figures of 111F23 (3-6) – and he can be backed each-way with Spreadex or bought in the 50-25-10 market.

GOOD LOOK CHARM didn’t take to fences last spring but has progressed since returned to hurdles this term, recording an 18-1 success at Wincanton before going down by two and a half lengths when the same price in Nurse Susan’s race at Cheltenham last month. That Wincanton victory took her record right-handed over timber to 111 (3-3) and she looks worth chancing, despite lacking winning form in big fields. Anthony Honeyball’s eight-year-old clocked a fast time for that Cheltenham third and also fared best of those to race up with the pace.
