Spreadex offers both normal fixed odds betting plus spread betting on horse racing. There are some key differences between this form of gambling and placing regular fixed odds bets. Get the calls right and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:
Andrew was two from two with his bets (DYSART ENOS & HORACIO APPLE’S) on Friday and has three bets/trades on Saturday, December 16th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:
CHELTENHAM 1.50
Early pace is strongly favoured in chases on the New Course at Cheltenham and there doesn’t look to be a great deal of it in today’s feature event – the December Gold Cup. The likeliest early lead is TORN AND FRAYED, who was in the process of running a respectable race in the Paddy Power Gold Cup when tipping up two out. That was his first run since scoring by a wide margin over today’s course and distance on Trials Day in January 2022 and Nigel Twiston-Davies’ nine-year-old might be able to dominate. Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or back him each-way at a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back TORN AND FRAYED in Cheltenham 1.50
HEREFORD 2.13
WESTERN ZEPHYR did too much too soon on the front end at Carlisle on his reappearance at Carlisle in October, doing really well to finish a six-length third to Nells Son (first three home described by the Racing Post as ‘held up in rear’, ‘towards rear’ and ‘took keen hold, led’). Charlie Longsdon’s six-year-old built on that with a close-up second to Xcitations at Sandown (pair 13 lengths clear) and today’s flatter/easier track will suit (his previous wins have all come at Ludlow and Huntingdon). Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back WESTER ZEPHYR in Hereford 2.13
HEREFORD 2.48
BERTIE WOOSTER was a big eyecatcher at Wincanton on his penultimate start, doing best of the prominent racers when an 11-length third in a 1m7f handicap hurdle run to suit the closers. He built on that with a narrow second over 2m5.5f at Hereford next time, going down by a nose in a titanic battle with Mactavish and finishing 26 lengths clear of the third. Joe Tizzard’s five-year-old promises to be suited by today’s step up to 3m1.5f and can get off the mark. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back BERTIE WOOSTER in Hereford 2.48
