Spreadex offers both normal fixed odds betting plus spread betting on horse racing. There are some key differences between this form of gambling and placing regular fixed odds bets. Get the calls right and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:

Andrew has three recommended bets/trades at Aintree on Grand National Day (Saturday, April 13th) including a value outsider in the big race. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:

AINTREE 1.20

The runners I like in this 3m handicap hurdle are near the head of the weights – last year’s winner WEST BALBOA (number 2 on the racecard), trained by bang-in-form Dan Skelton, has clearly been laid out for a repeat bid, Pertemps winner MONMIRAL (number 3) was taking his record over hurdles to six from 11 with that Cheltenham festival success, BOLD ENDEAVOUR (number 2) – placed at 50-1 in the Pertemps – and RED RISK (number 1), a possible improver for the first-time cheekpieces (a positive statistical angle where the Paul Nicholls yard is concerned). CHANTRY HOUSE (number 5) is also respected and the best way to side with them as a group is to sell DOUBLE NUMBER OF WINNER at 17 with Spreadex.

Recommendation: SELL DOUBLE NUMBER OF WINNER in Aintree 1.20

AINTREE 2.30

I’ve backed The King Of Ryhope to win in this 3m1f handicap chase but the one I want to side with on the spreads is TWIG, who is remarkably consistent in the warmer months. Ben Pauling’s nine-year-old finished a fine 28-1 second in the Ultima Handicap Chase at the Cheltenham festival, taking his record over hurdles/fences from March until early November to 112121121122 (7-12). Buy at 13 in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market.

Recommendation: Back TWIG in Aintree 2.30

AINTREE 4.00

CHEMICAL ENERGY looks a value outsider in the Grand National and can be bought at 2 in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or backed each-way (33-1 with Spreadex) in the fixed odds betting. Gordon Elliott’s eight-year-old has stamina in abundance – running second to Gaillard Du Mesnil on unsuitably soft going in the 3m6f National Hunt Chase at last season’s Cheltenham festival and looks to have been laid out for today’s race. He pulled up in the Irish National last term but that race probably came too soon after Cheltenham and the right-handed track wouldn’t have suited (he tends to jump out to his left). He’s only had one run this season, finishing a respectable sixth of 17 in the Kerry National over 3m and the return to a longer trip is likely to bring about improvement.

Recommendation: Back CHEMICAL ENERGY in Aintree 4.00
