PONTEFRACT JOCKEYS
in-form KEVIN STOTT has a good book of rides at Pontefract today and looks worth a buy with Spreadex. THE COOKSTOWN CAFU (2.30) is a seven-race maiden but hasn’t had ground this slow since his short-head second at York in the corresponding week last year and looks set to pick up points.
WYNFORD (3.05) went close here last month and is only 4lb higher than when sluicing home in this race on soft ground 12 months ago. KING CARNEY (3.40), 20-1+ at the time of writing, is probably going to struggle on his debut for Rebecca Menzies unless the money arrives – his trainer has a good record at the first time of asking with recruits from other yards, but only the ones that start at 12-1 or shorter.
KENTUCKY ROSE (4.50) is my idea of the winner in the 6f handicap after running a stormer against the pace bias at Hamilton last time (she was the only one in the first seven who raced up with the pace and she beat the next of the prominent racers to finish by seven lengths).
SWEET GLANCE (5.25), Stott’s final ride of the day, was narrowly beaten on heavy ground at Catterick last time and will enjoy today’s conditions. Buy at 31 in the Spreadex PONTEFRACT JOCKEYS market. Fixed odds punters might want to combine his mounts in a multiple bet.

WOLVERHAMPTON JOCKEYS
PAUL MULRENNAN rarely rocks up at Wolverhampton but his 109 rides since the beginning of 2019 have produced 18 winners (16.5%) for a profit of £85.58 to a £1 level stake at SP. In handicaps only, his figures in the same period are 17 from 84 (20.2%) for a profit of £106.83. He has five rides at single-figure prices tonight – all in handicaps – and a buy at 27 in the Spreadex WOLVERHAMPTON JOCKEYS market looks warranted.
