Spreadex offers both normal fixed odds betting plus spread betting on horse racing. There are some key differences between this form of gambling and placing regular fixed odds bets. Get the calls right and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:

Andrew heads to Redcar and Ballinrobe for his two  recommended bets/trades on Bank Holiday Monday, May 27th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:

REDCAR 2.50

DAKOTA GOLD is trading at around 5-4 for this four-runner 6f handicap on the strength of his recent 25-1 second of 21 from a poor high draw at York but his losing run stretches back to October 2022 and he rarely wins before July/August time. Throw in the presence of another front-runner in the shape of BAY BREEZE and he looks worth taking on. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market. Julie Camacho has yet to hit form this season but WINTER CROWN wasn’t best drawn when mid-division at Haydock 48 hours ago and could be the one for fixed odds punters.

Recommendation: Oppose DAKOTA GOLD in Redcar 2.50

BALLINROBE 4.30

Gordon Elliott’s BEACON EDGE was a big eyecatcher in the Coral Cup at this year’s Cheltenham festival, finishing ninth of 21 and doing third best of those to race up with the strong gallop. He has since put in two more solid shifts, running sixth to Impaire Et Passe in Grade 1 company at Aintree before his short-head 22-1 second of 23 in a Listed handicap hurdle at the Punchestown festival. Understandably, he’s forecast to start as the short-priced favourite for this conditions hurdle, a race his trainer won last year. However, he’s a ten-year-old who seems best in the autumn – six of his seven wins have cone in October/November (the other in February) and after having hard races at the Cheltenham, Aintree and Punchestown festivals he might be in need of a break. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

Recommendation: Oppose BEACON EDGE in Ballinrobe 4.30
