Ella Pickard’s six-year-old has form figures on good to soft or faster going of 4119961 (3-6), compared to figure of 4P3 (0-3) on anything slower. They’re calling it soft, good to soft in places at the Welsh venue and that’s soft enough to put me off. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market. Fixed odds punters might want to side with BOSTON JOE for the in-form Rebecca Curtis yard.

LIBERTY BIRD has a difficult draw to overcome (stall 9 of 9) in this 5f fillies’ novice stakes but Charlie Johnston’s juvenile is already on the drift and is starting to look good value. Her stable has a fine record with racecourse debutantes in sprints, scoring with 54 of the 238 qualifiers since the beginning of 2012 for a profit of £87.61 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 38.61, A/E = 1.40). Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

MESAFI stepped up on his two previous efforts when a 14-1 third in a 7f Kempton maiden earlier this month on his first start since gelded and could take another step forward now making his handicap debut back at 6f. Charlie Fellowes does well with his runners on their second start since gelded, scoring with 15 of the 68 qualifiers for a profit of £101.18 to a £1 level stake at SP, with those who finished in the top three last time out landing ten of their 24 starts for a profit of £58.18.
