Spreadex offers both normal fixed odds betting plus spread betting on horse racing. There are some key differences between this form of gambling and placing regular fixed odds bets. Get the calls right and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:
Andrew heads to the evening all-weather action at Newcastle for his two recommended bets/trades on Friday, January 19th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:
NEWCASTLE 4.15
Peter Niven has struck with two of his three all-weather runners in the past fortnight (10-1 and 9-4) and ADMIRAL NELSON can make it three from four in this 7f handicap. The six-year-old scored over course and distance on last month’s stable debut and he caught the eye when fifth at Wolverhampton last week, doing second best of those to come from off the pace when it paid to be handy – the winner, runner-up and third were described by the Racing Post as ‘raced in 2nd’, ‘led’ and ‘prominent’. Fourth-placed Kingwell, best of the closers after sitting in midfield in the early stages, finished a good second at Chelmsford yesterday to give the form a minor boost and Admiral Nelson will appreciate the return to this straight course where his come-from-behind style will be an asset, especially with a headwind forecast. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back ADMIRAL NELSON in Newcastle 4.45
NEWCASTLE 7.15
NAZCA rattled off an all-weather four-timer in late summer/early autumn and was then drawn out of it when ninth of 12 from stall 1 in a 6f Newcastle handicap (first four drawn 10, 12, 9 and 8). His patient style was no help when fifth at Southwell next time and he bounced back to land a 6f Newcastle handicap on January 4th from stall 1. The bias to high draws on the straight course has flipped on its head this month and it was certainly an advantage to stay down the middle of the track earlier this week, suggesting that he has solid claims of following up from stall 1 of 12 again. Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back NAZCA in Newcastle 7.15
